  • Conventions.
    • Salsa weekend at the River Palms Hotel + Casino, Las Vegas Nevada June 20 - 23, 2002 - go to www.sabormagazine.com or www.dancefun.com for more information on packages - plenty of dancing, workshops,  and much more.
    • East Coast Salsa Congress with David Melendez and Luis Zegarra. This event will take place on August 17 and 18 in the Catskills, New York. More info when received.
    • Congresso Bacardi De La Salsa Congress - San Juan, Puerto Rico, July 25 through 29, the ultimate and BIGGEST Salsa convention in the world.  This event will be held at the newly renovated Caribe Hilton Hotel.  After hours activities will be held at the historical fortress San Gerónimo.  Bands like El Gran Combo, Andy Montañez, Willie Rosario and many more will be playing.  Featuring Salsa workshops, panels, 50 dance groups, free classes, etc.  For more information, including registration, check out www.salsacongress.com.
      • This is the "big mama" of Salsa Conventions but they also sponsor conventions in various cities throughout the world at different times of the year.

Temple University:

October was Latino Heritage Month at Temple.  A wide array of events are held throughout the month and at various locations, showcasing the best that every Latino culture has.  For a list of events, got the main Temple Web Page and search on "Latino Heritage".
